About the Photographer

My photography is my passion. I enjoy showcasing the world around me in unique and interesting ways.

I began taking photography classes in film school to enhance my visual storytelling while studying to become a Writer/Director. I felt the only way to successfully challenge and enhance my creative mind was to be able to tell compelling stories and evoke emotion in single frames of images.

I love photography because of the experiences I take away from it. One day I can be shooting a field of wildflowers in the desert, and the next night be shooting a rock and roll concert on stage in front of tens of thousands of people. I get a rush from both. I love connecting with the people I photograph and learning about them and hearing stories. That is when real life moments come out.

My goal is to always bring out the creative and uniqueness in people, places, or objects I am shooting. I approach my style of shooting in a very relaxed environment. I want people to be real. To be themselves.

I believe that there is only one rule in life. Love. I love what I do, and I am doing what I love!

And it doesn’t hurt to laugh along the way a little bit!

This photo was taken by fellow photographer, and my best friend in Chicago, Michael Durr. Michael is someone whose work inspires me and I admire, and I know mine does the same for him. You can visit his site at the link on the right of this page.
